For Hopi - By Hopi
The Hopi Indian reservation is located in northeaster Arizona  and occupies parts of Navajo and Coconino Counties. It encompasses approximately 1,542,000 acres. Neighboring towns include Flagstaff, Winslow and Holbrook. The reservation consists of three major mesas rising up to 7,2000 feet. The current population of the Hopi Reservation is approximately 9,000 people.

History
The Hopi Credit Association was formed on May 1, 1952, by a group of Hopi Individuals as a re-lending program to members of the Hopi Tribe. The Hopi Credit Association's goal is “ To carry out the business of borrowing money, and re-lending it to members for their economic improvement and activities related thereto”.

The Hopi Credit Association is accredited by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501 (c) 4 tax-exempt organization. HCA is 100% wholly owned and controlled by its members. Those members are all members of the Hopi Tribe. The motto of the Hopi Credit Association is, “For Hopi, By Hopi”

In 1998 HCA was certified as Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) by the Department of the Treasury.
