Wilfred Moore
My wife Sylvia and I live on a small ranch in Tonalea, AZ., we have 3 horses and 9 dogs and 3 cats.  My wife Sylvia a life long animal lover volunteers with the Desert View Mobile Vet. Clinic in Tuba City, doing their books and helping out when needed, especially when they go out and do vet. clinics in the surrounding areas on the Hopi and Navajo reservations. 

In 1977 Silvia and I retired to the Hopi Reservation and I started my own commercial concrete business so that my people could learn the concrete business and make a good living at it.  As of May 1, 2005 I retired.

Family: I have 4 children from a previous marriage that I am very proud of. 

  • My oldest son Ernie is Vice Pres of Greater Seattle Concrete lives in Lake Stevens, Wash, he is married with 2 children,

  • 2nd son  Eric is in the movie production business in L. A., married with 2 children,

  • 3rd son Eldon lives in Marysville, Wash. and is the lead for Greater Seattle Concrete and has two children,

  • Kelli my only daughter lives in Everett, WA., and works for a specialty food company is married and has a daughter. 

  • My current wife Sylvia is retired from banking and running my concrete business on the reservation.  I have a outstanding step son with Sylvia,  Greg, who  works in the medical supply business and lives with his fiancee in Portland, Oregon.

Public Service:

  • Moenkopi Utility Authority currently Board President 3 years of service

  • Moenkopi Developers Corporation, Board Member for 6 years

  • Hopi Credit Association, currently Treasurer

  • Hopi Telecommunications Inc., 4 years of service

  • Little Star Communications, 4 years of service, currently Chairman

  • Upper Village of Moenkopi served as Board Member for 2 years

  • Sylvia and I take part in Arizona's highway cleanup program. For the last 13 years we have maintained our stretch of Highway 160 for one mile each way.

  • Desert View Mobile Vet Clinic, I have donated materials and labor for additions onto their home for their clinic in 2007 and 2009

  • Moenkopi Developers Corp., I donated time to clean and paint the old school so that MDC would have their own offices

  • Served on the Hopi Foundation board from 1991- 2008 served as president.

  • Upper Village of Moenkopi - Constitution Committee

  • Upper Village of Moenkopi Board - served 2 yrs.

Employment History:

  • Military Service I served for 3 yrs. with the Army Corps. of Engineers, Honorable Discharge,  Classification 513.10 Mason

  • Former owner of Moore Concrete Construction (Now Retired) Tonalea, AZ

  • Member of Cement Masons Local 528, Seattle, WA.

  • I worked as foreman for Peter Kiewit Sons Co. for 18 years – Seattle, WA
  projects included the Kingdome & Seattle Freeways

  • Foreman for J.A. Jones Co. 3 years – Seattle, WA

  • Foreman for Howard S. Wright Co. 2 years – Seattle, WA

  • Foreman for Glacier Steel  building Warehouses & Fish Processing plants in Alaska
