Responsibilities include:
  • Develop and implement a volunteer program for Hopi Health Care Center (HHCC) that will provide health care support and education services for the patient service population
  • Design the program to attract new volunteers which may be from educational programs that serve young adults and adolescents pursuing a career in the health care field
  • Maintain a recruitment process for volunteers which includes applications, interviews, placement, orientations, evaluations, timekeeping and file maintenance
  • Serve as the contact between potential volunteers and departmental managers which includes maintaining effective and positive working and interpersonal relations between the Volunteer Program and HHCC staff, volunteers, community agencies and community members
  • Prepare and provide informative presentations about the HHCC Volunteer Program to inquiring agencies and community groups
  • Collaborate with local schools, colleges, and universities to develop programs that will provide training and work experience relative to health career programs
  • Delegated to serve as the Public Information Officer for HHCC emergency preparedness - Hospital Emergency Incident Command System (HEICS)
  • Plan and coordinate various public events which HHCC chooses to host within and outside of the facility
  • Serve in the capacity as a public relations representative for HHCC which includes conducting guided tours
  • Serve as a member of the HHCC 2007 – 2008 Strategic Planning Team
  • Assist other departments within HHCC by participating in task teams established to developed innovative ways to enhance and improve services/programs
